WHO IS AT RISK?

Risk Factors for Prostate Cancer

Though you may not be at risk, we suggest that you pay special attention to the following risk factors:

  • Increasing age (50 years and above)
  • History of prostate cancer in the family
  • African-American race
  • A diet consistently high in fat
  • Obesity

Men at high risk for developing prostate cancer should begin screening at age 40 or 45.

If you have any concerns, please contact your urologist.
