Bladder suspension (bladder neck suspension) surgery is a procedure that can be used to treat urine leakage that occurs when a person sneezes, laughs, or coughs — a condition called stress incontinence. Bladder surgery is part of the treatment for most bladder cancers as well. The type of surgery done for bladder cancer will depend on its stage. A cystectomy is a procedure where all or part of the bladder may need to be removed in the event that a patient has invasive bladder cancer.
